Biography: James Earl Jones is an American actor with a career spanning decades and fields of entertainment. He is one of the few to have received an 'EGOT' which requires winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony.

Jones began with his Broadway debut in 1957, winning a Tony Award for his role in The Great White Hope. He played the same role in the 1970 film adaptation of this play, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award.

During the 1980s and 1990s, Jones appeared in a number of famous films, including Conan the Barbarian (1982) and The Hunt for Red October (1990).
